Into the Yellow: How We Designed the Interior of Soup Up’s Newest Location

Besides the services provided, the interior design of a restaurant, no matter how small, greatly influences its success. The atmosphere and decor have an important contribution when it comes to the well-being of customers. Details have a major impact – from the entrance and lighting, to the colors used in the design. Today we present to you how we designed the newest Soup Up location.

Before we get into the details of the layout, let’s get to know Soup Up. Soup Up is a premium soup bar, with vegetarian, vegan and raw dishes, which offers a healthy, original and tasty alternative to fast-food restaurants. In addition to soups, here you will also find salads, sourdough bread and tasty desserts.

For the newest Soup Up location, the investors wanted a cozy, welcoming and warm space, an environment that would visually convey the warmth and joy that soup, the main product, offers us.

The expressiveness of an interior is reflected through light, materials, colors, and textures. However, of all these, the most impactful element would be the color scheme – colors give us a certain mood and perception of the entire space, and in a restaurant, where people come to relax and enjoy, colors have an essential contribution.

Therefore, we opted for a color palette based on solar yellow, considering the power of this shade to bring brightness to interiors; a cheerful color that awakens and stimulates the spirit, opens the emotional state and instantly energizes. In addition to color, we focused on textures and opted for natural finishes, such as wood and metal, which perfectly complement the entire environment.

The interior reflects a strong personality – from the entrance you can notice the wall behind the bar and the ceiling, painted in solar yellow, highlighting the rest of the chosen elements. The LED strips, the white bar and the metal structure harmoniously warm the space.

We complemented the entire decor with natural elements, such as wood and metal, which give a courageous touch to the space and provide visual comfort to those who cross the threshold of the location.

The two areas (bar area and customer area) are visually delimited by the colors that we used, but also by the floor. The floor is tiled with a ceramic tile Terrazzo in the bar area and with wood-textured parquet in the table zone. Terrazzo tiles perfectly complement the slightly industrial bar area, while the parquet adds a warm touch to the space.

The tables were chosen with marble-look tops in order to connect with the bar area, while the chairs are made of rattan. The customer area is also served by a bar made of wood ribbing enhanced by wooden chairs with metal legs, a detail that emphasizes the cozy note of the interior.

The natural and welcoming atmosphere is supported by the rest of the decorative elements – green plants in rattan or white pots, the wooden slatted wall, the decorative pillows.
