The correct use of colors is a first step in designing a harmonious space that reflects your personality. Without colors, a home’s interior would lack uniqueness. Accent shades can be used to emphasize and highlight certain spaces or, conversely, to keep them more subdued. Today we present you some interior designs from our projects, developed with color accents that we hope would inspire you to choose the most suitable colors to bring the contrast you want for your place.

Red Accents
An interior design rule suggests that a decor should include 5% red. However, since this color doesn’t suit every room, it’s more of a recommendation. Instead, focus on contrast—red brings a striking contrast to any color combination. That’s why, for this open space living room in Dubai, we chose neutral shades mixed with red accents. Also, we chose a custom corner model, with a chaise longue and red decorative pillows because a completely red sofa might be a bit too much for an open space. In order to properly organize the space, we opted for a minimalist furniture, in simple and straight lines.

Yellow or Orange Accents
If you’ve chosen dark or gray shades for the furniture and other design elements for a more classic interior, focus on color accents that will bring dynamism to the space—opt for shades from the yellow or orange range.
For this living room in Dubai, we chose to integrate a yellow armchair to harmoniously complement the neutral ambiance created by shades of gray and cream.

The dining area in this Dubai apartment is balanced by the two orange chairs that perfectly complement the gray used in the rest of the space, amplifying the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the feeling of comfort.

Blue or Purple Accents
For smaller interiors, we recommend using light shades for both furniture and walls to visually enlarge the space and provide more brightness to the room. However, using light shades can risk making the result monotonous. In this case, the ideal solution is to choose accent colors from the range of dark shades, such as purple or blue, to balance the entire decor.
For this living room decorated in predominantly light shades, we chose to add blue as an accent shade, which can be found in the stool and the decorative pillows on the sofa.

For this teenage girl’s bedroom, we selected purple as the accent color, incorporating it across the entire wall in the study and bed area with a decorative wallpaper.

Pastel Shades
If you want a more colorful environment, but still don’t want to draw too much attention to a single piece of furniture, the right solution is to decorate in pastel shades. Choose to combine pale green with dusty pink and you will achieve a delicate and balanced interior.
This open space in Dubai, consisting of a dining and living area, was decorated in pastel shades of pale green and dusty pink. The entire atmosphere is airy and orderly. The two accent colors perfectly complement the entire color palette.

Two Accent Colors
For interiors decorated predominantly in white, you can opt for two accent colors, as we chose for this kitchen of a house in Dubai. Solar yellow and turquoise perfectly complement the entire space, giving personality to the room.
