The last months of 2016 bring interiors featuring elements that tell a story of authenticity and timelessness, all while remaining understated. We remain present in the realm of geometric shapes in fabrics, artisan glass and precious metals, pastel shades and patterns that resemble marble. Most of the color trends contain varieties of blue, including the much-loved turquoise, grays, indigo and gold.
2015 was undoubtedly the “year of copper” in interiors, the year that entitled it “the metal of the moment”, but 2016 brought a touch of refinement through well-chosen pieces as accents that create a glamorous look. It is the sophisticated, rich in surfaces and colors interiors period. This season’s trend is to flirt with simplicity, natural materials, uncluttered spaces, artisanal objects and basic shapes. In a world of overconsumption and quantity over quality, this seems to represent a welcome change that will thrive in the coming years.
